Independent U.S. Senate candidate Gordon Howie released a one-minute advertisement focused on a religious message Thursday.
Howie, who is running against Republican Mike Rounds, Democrat Rick Weiland and independent Larry Pressler for South Dakota’s U.S. Senate seat, positions himself as “true conservative.” In the first video of his campaign, Howie didn’t talk about small government or gun rights. Instead, he focused on the role of religion in American life and politics.
“Here’s the truth: the United States isn’t going to solve its problems in a country empty of faith. And it sure won’t solve them with a government that’s hostile to faith,” Howie says. “A great America needs God.”
