CHEYENNE – Two independent statewide candidates will be on November’s general election ballot.
A state elections official said Tuesday that Pine Bluffs resident Don Wills qualified for the governor’s race and Laramie resident Curt Gottshall qualified for the state’s U.S. Senate contest.
Peggy Nighswonger, elections DIRECTOR with the Secretary of State’s Office, said both candidates turned in petitions with at least the required number of valid signatures by Monday’s deadline for independent candidates.
She said those signatures have been verified, and their independent candidacy petitions have been accepted by the state.
That means that Wills will be on the ballot along with Gov. Matt Mead and Democratic challenger Pete Gosar in the gubernatorial race.
