Local Democrats are not challenging L. Scott Frantz as he seeks a fourth term representing the state Senate’s 36th District. But that does not mean the Greenwich Republican heads toward Election Day unopposed.
A Green Party challenger, also from Greenwich, is contesting Frantz’s re-election.
Newcomer Edward Heflin is promoting an agenda centered on a “public banking” initiative in his hopes to defeat the three-term incumbent, saying state government needs to take a new approach to reduce debt and create jobs.
Both candidates that the state economy is seriously ailing and job creation is negligible. But they see eye to eye on little else.
