USA Today: ‘Spoiler’ Candidates Could Sway Tight 2014 Races

WASHINGTON — Green Party candidate Paula Bradshaw is not going to win an Illinois U.S. House race this November, but she may decide who does.

Bradshaw, a nurse and liberal activist, is on the ballot in a competitive race between incumbent Democratic Rep. Bill Enyart and GOP candidate Mike Bost.

She is one of a handful of potentially influential spoiler candidates in House and Senate races in 2014 who stand no chance of winning outright but who may draw enough support to tip the balance in razor-thin contests.
