Libertarian U.S. Senate candidate Augustus Invictus releases latest “fireside chat”

Augustus Invictus is a candidate for U.S. Senate from Florida, running for the Libertarian Party’s nomination. His campaign has garnered national attention and controversy, in part to his sacrificing a goat and drinking its blood as part of a ritual, as well as his white nationalist views. Invictus’ campaign insignia closely resembles a fascist eagle clutching fasces, and according to the Orlando Sentinel, Invictus is a self-proclaimed fascist. His candidacy has sparked a backlash from the Libertarian Party of Florida, which is hosting the 2016 Libertarian Party presidential convention in Orlando in May and already former Libertarian Party of Florida chairman Augustus Adrian Wyllie resigned in protest of Invictus’s candidacy. Currently, Invictus has no challengers for the Libertarian Party’s nomination for U.S. Senate, a seat that is among the most closely watched and contested in the nation on account of it being an open seat due to Senator Marco Rubio’s impending retirement in such a key swing state that is Florida.
