Austin Petersen: Gary Johnson Disappoints the Entire Libertarian Party

(The following was a press released issued by the Austin Petersen for campaign.)

This is why we can’t have nice libertarian things.

After an invitation from Fox Business host John Stossel to appear on the network during this year’s Students for Liberty conference, Gary Johnson refused to accept the invitation to debate alongside fellow candidate John McAfee and myself.

Johnson told our campaigns that his refusal was due to a prior engagement. However, when both of our campaigns offered to work together with Johnson in order to make both events possible for all campaigns, he refused to play ball with us and with McAfee.

Gary is a Liberty Lightweight. Austin Never Skips Leg Day. Donate Here.

We had a chance to bring national attention to the ideas of liberty, the Libertarian Party and it’s candidates, and Gary ruined that opportunity for all of us.

Gary, do you even liberty, bro?

  3. Johnson (and Petersen) were committed to 2 events (including a debate with the other Libertarian candidates) in Biloxi, Mississippi that day. Despite his pretence (“Johnson TOLD our campaigns that his refusal was due to a prior engagement”) , Petersen was well aware of that, since he was committed to the same debate. The difference was simply that Johnson wanted to keep his word, while Petersen apparently thinks keeping your word is another one of those quaint libertarian things we have to get rid of to “grow the base”.

  4. How would Austin Petersen know? He won’t even properly DEFINE liberty, because that would be rude to people who use different definitions.
