The Democratic and Republican candidates are speaking to the AIPAC Conference this weekend, explaining how they would work to defend the Israel’s colonial occupation and maintain the imperialist status quo in the Middle East.
The La Riva/Puryear PSL Campaign is proud to be outside, in the streets, protesting against AIPAC and in support of Palestine. Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump both are both threatening new military action in the Middle East. Both support the sending of $5 billion per year in U.S. tax dollars to Israel. Both claim to represent poor and working people, but in reality they represent the rule of the same class of billionaires and corporate executives.
The La Riva/Puryear PSL presidential campaign demands self-determination for the Palestinian people, including the right of return for Palestinian refugees, and an end to U.S. aid to Israel. We are fighting for a new socialist system that prioritizes the needs of the people not the banks and military contractors.
We understand that the Palestinian people are the victims of one of the worst crimes in modern times. “Ethnically cleansed” from 80 percent of their homeland to make way for the state of Israel in 1948, the Palestinians did not fade quietly into the pages of history. They have waged a heroic struggle against overwhelming odds, facing not only the U.S.-backed Israeli state, but also U.S. imperialism and its client regimes in the region.
Israel has exposed itself to the world with its war crimes, genocidal sieges of Gaza, and colonial land grabs. More and more people are waking up to the fact that it remains a racist, apartheid-style state with vastly different rights accorded to Jewish and Palestinian residents. Many in the Jewish American community are seeing through AIPAC’s lies.
The terrible anti-Semitic atrocities committed against the Jewish people by fascist governments in Europe during the mid-20th century have been cynically used as a pretext by western powers to establish a dependent colonial-type settler outpost in the Middle East.
Free, free Palestine! Occupation is a crime!
