RICHMOND, Va. — Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson is scheduled to pay a visit to Richmond Monday.
The former New Mexico governor, who will also make stops at Liberty University and University of Virginia, was originally slated appear at VCU’s Monroe Park campus, but organizers said the event was shifted to the Hippodrome to accommodate larger crowds.
The candidate said the event is to motivate students and young professionals to vote as well as to sign Johnson’s petition to allow third party candidates to participate in the presidential debates.
Johnson will speak at the Hippodrome at 528 North 2nd Street at 7 p.m.
After 36 years of endorsing Republican candidates, The Richmond Times-Dispatch endorsed Johnson in September.
